About Luis Lugo
My name is Luis Lugo, I was born and raised in Brooklyn, N.Y. (Williamsburg) I come from a large family of 9 sisters, and 1 brother.
Taking pictures was a part of life for us, my father had a movie camera, and a 110 film camera with the round and square bulbs on them, then my sisters moved up to Polaroids, and disk cameras, then eventually they graduated to 35mm cameras, which is where I found my passion for photography.
I started out with a second hand Nikon F1, then I was able to save enough money for a Nikon F3. I thought Photography couldn't get any better than this, Then came digital. My Nikon was stolen, so I was left with the conundrum, stay with film, or make the leap to digital? I took the leap in the form of a low end digital at the time, an Olympus c3030 3.3 MP., I gradually moved on up in cameras, to an Olympus E10,then E300, Now I'm the proud owner of (2 )Olympus E30's and an EPL1 which has become my travel companion, besides my family.
I have become very partial to Olympus, I love their glass, many friend and family have the better known Nikon and Canon, but Olympus has not failed me yet, my old E300 8MP, my workhorse, is still firing after more than 6 years, paired with a good glass, it can still crank out some good shots.
I thank my family for indulging and having so much patience with me, when it comes to my photography.
I take shots as I can, when I can, this is not my full time profession, although I wish it were, because I find it to be so therapeutic.
I have partnered up with my cousin, and we do anything from Macrophotography, Portraiture, sweet sixteens to weddings, we switch up rolls as primary shooter and secondary shooter for different events, different perspective and angles make great shots. I don't hold it against him that he's a Canon shooter, Blood is thicker than water.
